Dear Players,

I am pleased to announce the provisional BVI Rugby 7s squad for the
RAN 2025 Sevens held in Trinidad.

Well done to those selected and apologies to the players who haven’t made the provisional squad -but thank you for your effort and commitment to training.

Under RAN tournament regulations: 12 players are selected per squad.
I am still waiting on Niall Brooks (RAN) for the tournament Terms of
Play which will dictate whether or not we are allowed to take
travelling reserves. Other factors that will impact the final squad
selection include factors listed below:

1. Travelling reserve allowance (RAN regulations)
2. Selection criteria (sent on previous PDF)
3. Player illness or injury >>> Work or family commitments

From previous experience coaching in 7s tournaments - travelling
reserves would be beneficial - as if a player gets injured (and is
assessed and signed off by a Doctor at the pitch), then the travelling
reserve can step into the squad and be eligible to play. Based on
technicalities - a home nation has ‘home advantage’ on this as they
have more readily available players in the country who can play if
required.

For now, I have sent off the passports to Reid and he has
forwarded onto the travel agent to hold flights for Trinidad.

Travel itinerary:
ARRIVE: BVI > Trinidad (Thursday 20th November)
Friday 21st - (Group games x2) & Saturday 22nd - (Group games x2)
Sunday 23rd - (Group game x1 & FINAL)
DEPART: Trinidad > BVI (Monday 24th November)

Important message
If for any reason, you require a different departure date / location
from Trinidad - please tell myself or Reid so we can inform the
travel agent and arrange accordingly.
