Despite a delayed kickoff due to immigration delays , BVI hit the pitch with a frenzy of pinpoint passing and precise side-stepping. The hosts lit up the scoreboard early thanks to a blisteringly quick backline. Scrummy Rob Lind kept ball moving to the ex-hooker turned fly-half Sam Thompson who distributed well to the battering ram partnership of Tom Wilson and Seb Annabel. Mark Wells filled the wing and back seat with comfort that led to a string of tries from the Englishman.

USVI fronted up with a strong pack but were unmatched vs. the BVIs bomb-squad, led by BVI homegrown, Roan Thornton, powerful Kiwi, Keegan Hori Tukara and the emphatic Saffa, Elmar Bosman and Captain Rossa Canavan. Hooker Jonny "Chef" Mcauley delivered a sidestep masterclass to get over for a try to the delight of the crowd.

Seasoned back Rory Thornton was punished by a very short dead-ball line but made up with scoring a well-played try.

The second half led to immediate rotations from the bench that led to more well worked tries and some serious hits from new players such as Kah Plotz and Matthew Allum. BVI speedster, Jayden Williams stayed true to form putting on a show of skill and speed, he scored a dazzling 60 meter try with side-step led blast down the wing.

Electric Ryan Fisher used his speed and balance to meander through USVI units to take 2 scalps with successful drop-out conversions to add. The BVI bench proved its worth, packed with talent in Gethin "BFG" Jones and the true clubman Tom Chapman, who used his new lighter and agile physique to deliver a sharp performance.

After 20 minutes of hard-fought rugby BVI came out on top with 50 points to 0. Much respect to USVI who showed courage and ambition to continue the fight against the ever-progressing BVI team.

Game 2 (BVI 25 – USVI 12)

The rugby festival continued with a re-energized USVI squad eager for more action, while BVI flooded the pitch with their exciting U19 prospects.

Notable mentions go to Ahmad Tarabein who showed a desire to meet every contact with his full power, Jeffery Thompson passed well and made a sensational hit to close to door on what could have been an easy try on the right wing, T'Khoy Toussaint made a solid impact to the front row and energetic Te'kory Penn who showed real hunger to make a last ditch try saving tackle on the 22 meter line putting a rapid USVI player to the floor. BVI continued well in the final game of the day with Elmar Bosman enforcing discipline and showing the young guns how to make dominant tackles. Tyrique Isaacs displayed his class and partnered well with new senior player Jonny Gowing. The match was defined by explosive line breaks, clinical lineouts, and a physical narrative dictated by dominant tackles. While audacious "Hollywood" passes provided plenty of entertainment, the game was ultimately won by the high skillset and on-pitch maturity of BVI Rugby.

USVI found their rhythm in this fixture, breaking the line to score two hard-fought tries. While they lacked overall execution on the day, they laid a brilliant foundation for a club firmly in a rebuild phase.

This historic weekend proved there is a massive, undeniable appetite for domestic rugby in the region. Both BVI and USVI will use this valuable game time to sharpen their tools as they look to build a structured, long-term competitive league.
